Dr Mo Aye

Associate global director for international medical graduates (interim)

Dr Mo Aye is a consultant physician in endocrinology at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and an honorary senior lecturer at Hull York Medical School. 

Starting as an international medical graduate who qualified in Yangon, Myanmar, Mo has worked as a physician in the frontline of the NHS for nearly 30 years and has subspecialty interests in osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease, pituitary disorders and thyroid disease.

He is training programme director for endocrinology and diabetes in the Yorkshire and Humber deanery and has previously held roles with the Society for Endocrinology, the Care Quality Commission, NIHR Health and Social Care Delivery Research, and within local NHS management.

In his role as 嫩草影院 associate global director for international medical graduates, Mo is committed to practical support that helps international trainees settle, develop and thrive in the NHS.

Dr Emma Vaux

Global vice president

Dr Emma Vaux OBE is a consultant nephrologist and general physician at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust since 2003. She is clinical director, integrated medicine A and associate medical director, patient safety. She is the clinical lead for the NHS England (NHSE) South-East Renal Clinical Network CKD workstream, and a member of NHSE Renal Services Clinical Reference Group.

At the 嫩草影院, Emma has been senior censor and vice president education and training (2017鈥�20), 嫩草影院 chief examiner (2018鈥�22) and on the 嫩草影院 education faculty since 2009. She continues as an M嫩草影院(UK) PACES examiner. Emma led the development of the 嫩草影院500 Code of Conduct. She is a Generation Q fellow with the Health Foundation and a founding member of the Q Community. Emma is co-editor of ABC Quality Improvement in Healthcare and an assessor with NHS Resolution. She was awarded an OBE for services to medical education in 2021.

Professor Hariharan Iyer

Associate global director for the Americas

He specialises in developing approaches to expanding living donor renal transplantation through positive crossmatch, ABO-incompatible transplants, paired exchange and desensitisation protocols.

Hariharan currently serves as director of curriculum and assessment for postgraduate medical education at Western University and remains actively involved with the 嫩草影院 and Surgeons of Canada. An experienced M嫩草影院 PACES examiner, he also chairs the M嫩草影院 specialty question and question writing groups.

Dr Mohamed Bakhit

Associate global director for the Middle East and North Africa

Dr Mohamed Bakhit is a consultant in diabetes, endocrinology and general internal medicine at University Hospital Lewisham, London. His clinical interests include diabetes technology, young adult diabetes and adrenal and pituitary disorders. He completed his medical degree at the University of Khartoum in 2007, followed by clinical work in Saudi Arabia and specialist training in the UK through the South London Diabetes and Endocrinology Training Programme.

Mohamed has held leadership roles, including clinical lead for endocrinology and diabetes at Lewisham, and has a strong focus on service redesign, quality improvement and pathways development. He has also been actively engaged in international collaborations throughout his medical career.

Dr Preetham Boddana

Associate global director for South Asia

Dr鈥疨reetham Boddana is an NHS consultant nephrologist and director of medical education at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He serves as an M嫩草影院(UK) PACES examiner, director of medical education, and joint secretary for Medical Education Leaders UK, as well as interviewing nationally for internal medicine training (IMT). Through these roles, Preetham contributes to high quality postgraduate training and fair, values based assessment processes.

He completed the Global Public Health Leadership Programme at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, strengthening his expertise in health systems, leadership and equity. With longstanding clinical and cultural ties to South Asia, he works in partnership to support sustainable global health initiatives. Preetham remains committed to advancing physician leadership and promoting international collaboration that improves global health outcomes.

Professor Dzifa Dey

Associate global director for Sub-Saharan Africa

Professor Dzifa Dey is an associate professor at the University of Ghana Medical School and a consultant rheumatologist heading the Rheumatology Unit at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. She trained in internal medicine through the West African and Ghana Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons, followed by rheumatology and clinical research training at University College London Hospitals. She also holds a Master鈥檚 in Rheumatology from King鈥檚 College London.

Dzifa鈥檚 research focuses on the epidemiology, psychological aspects and cardiovascular outcomes of autoimmune rheumatic diseases. She is dedicated to advancing rheumatology services across Ghana and Africa and has served as past president and former secretary鈥慻eneral of the African League of Associations for Rheumatology. She has been widely recognised for her many pioneering efforts, and in 2021 became the first recipient of the American College of Rheumatology鈥檚 distinguished International Health Professional Award.

Dr Swe Myint

Associate global director for the Asia Pacific region

Dr Swe Myint is a consultant endocrinologist at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and an honorary associate professor at the University of East Anglia. Originally from Yangon, Myanmar, she completed specialist training in endocrinology and clinical pharmacology in Cambridge, earning an MD for her research on obesity. Her subspecialty interests include transition and young adult diabetes, adrenal disorders and neuroendocrine tumour services, with a strong focus on improving care for medically and psychologically complex and vulnerable patient groups.

Swe has made significant contributions to the 嫩草影院, serving as regional adviser (2017鈥�22), elected councillor (2022鈥�25), PACES examiner and host, and a member of the M嫩草影院 Endocrinology Specialty Clinical Exam Board. She also serves as endocrine cancer convenor and sits on the Programme and Corporate Liaison Committees for the Society for Endocrinology.
