Job descriptions
The ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº recommends that all JDs comply with the provisions of the Terms and Conditions of Service (Consultant Contract). New guidance is available to help employers to get it right the first time when creating a post and writing a JD (download below). Ensuring that JDs meet the criteria of this new guidance will help employers to attract the best talent. This guidance replaces the ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº's job description service which has now been discontinued.
The ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº was accepting job description review requests from those NHS employers who require the presence of external representatives of the ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº at their AAC panels up until 31 March 2026 (this service for non-statutory employers, for e.g. foundation trusts, was ended 16 January 2026).
JDs submitted for review prior to the cut off date of 31st of March 2026 should receive either approval or reviewer comments in due course.
The JD reviews are managed by the local regional office.Ìý for regional office contact details to chase for any JDs previously submitted for review, which may still be under process.
The role of RSAs is changing as the job description review service has now ended. If you are an RSA and want to know more about what will be expected of you, or you are someone who wishes to become one, kindly email rsaqueries@rcp.ac.uk.
