These forums offer an open environment for discussion and are not readily available to watch on demand. However a selection of talks we are given permission to record by speakers may be available to watch via ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Launchpad - our exclusive member-only resource platform.

Dr John Adams

Dr John Adams is the medical director for governance & risk and a deputy chief medical officer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. His clinical role is consultant in anaesthesia and critical care at Leeds General Infirmary.

John has a master’s degree in healthcare ethics & law and he was previously a medicolegal adviser at the Medical Protection Society.

John’s current role is to provide advice to trust staff on a wide range of medicolegal topics including litigation, indemnity, inquests, serious incident investigations, complaints, mental capacity act, safeguarding, confidentiality and managing difficult patients. He also provides strategic oversight of clinical quality and governance within the Trust.

Dr Dan Smith

Dr Dan Smith is a respiratory consultant at Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust in the East Midlands, with special interests in COPD, ventilation, and chronic disease management. Nationally, he works with NHS England to support organisations in delivering impactful quality improvement programmes. As a clinical associate for ECIST and chair of the British Thoracic Society’s Workforce and Service Development Committee, he helps shape national standards and service innovation. Dan also leads the ÄÛ²ÝӰԺ’ improvement hub as Editor-in-Chief of Medical Care – Driving Change, promoting evidence-based practice, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement across the NHS.
