As a royal college and employer, the ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº is committed to minimising the environmental impacts of its operations and is continually seeking innovative ways to improve its sustainability.
In 2020, the ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº published a new climate policy which set a deadline of 2023 to end its investment in fossil fuel companies. .
The ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº is a founding member of the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change (UKHACC). In 2024, the ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº , a set of principles developed by UKHACC to help health organisations take steps to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
The ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº has published two report cards in 2025 on its progress to improve its environmental sustainability as an organisation, following signing up to the UKHACC commitments.
This first report card, published May 2025, gave an overview of the ÄÛ²ÝӰԺ’s current activities against the 11 UKHACC Commitments and set out the action it will take over the coming year to go further.
The second report card, published in December 2025, provided an update on progress and new sustainability activities since May 2025. The ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº will now publish sustainability updates each year as part of its annual report.
With around 40,000 members in the UK and internationally, the ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº has a global presence. In the UK, the ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº has two main sites – one in Regent’s Park in London, and another in Liverpool at The Spine. The ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº is committed to reducing the environmental impact of all of its work in the UK and abroad.
